1. Backup2005 Synchronizer is embedded in Backup2005 Pro. The synchronizer is different from the stand alone version. Backup2005 Pro synchronizer updates the General report, and synchronization scripts are available from the backup tree list or from the graphic backup map. But it does not include the live module.
The synchronizer allows you to define powerful backup strategy.
2. Management of network connections and ftp-http connections are now centralized (see Tools menu). In other words this means that if you change any information in the connection you don't need to change each concerned backup set.
3. Backup2005 Pro introduces the Second copy folder. Once the archive file is built a second copy is copied into the Second copy folder.
4. Backup set creation is now available in 3 modes :
- Beginner: backup set is simplified. The creation is done through a wizard.
- Normal : like in Backup2004 Pro
- Expert : the quickest way to create backup set.
5. Archive file can be encrypted using external AES 256 bit key encryption (like Backup2005 Synchronizer). Please note support for Winzip AES encryption will be added in May.
6. You can schedule now more than one backup set in a single task.
7. For security purpose Backup set files are now encrypted. This means that Backup2004 Pro backup set are not directly compatible with Backup2005 Pro but at the first use Backup2004 Pro backup sets are transformed.
Please note : the copy mode is no longer supported. You must use now the synchronizer.
8. Backup2005 Pro comes with high quality skins and screen has been re tailored in 16/9 when possible (this means that 99% of components used in the software like list, combo, edit zone... have been changed).

10. Under Windows XP, Backup2005 Pro is able to run the Windows restore point service and back up the hidden folder System Volume Information for more security.
